About Dr.Carter:

John Carter is a business and executive coach with a mission to help veteran entrepreneurs and technical leaders turn operational excellence into scalable, profitable businesses. A former U.S. Navy Nuclear Submarine Captain with 30 years of service, John led elite teams in some of the most high-consequence, high-performance environments imaginable. After transitioning from the military, he held executive roles in advanced technology and R&D, where he scaled production operations, optimized strategic investments, and drove innovation across complex organizations. As a licensed professional engineer with a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering—and business credentials from Harvard and Notre Dame—John brings a rare blend of technical insight and commercial strategy to his clients.
Today, John partners with veteran founders and executive leaders to overcome growth challenges, lead with clarity, and build high-impact companies without sacrificing purpose or peace of mind. When he’s not coaching, you’ll likely find him ice climbing, running marathons, or summiting mountains alongside his wife Kathryn—living out the same mindset he brings to his clients: show up fully, lead boldly, and live with intent.
